Lower Cost
and Convenience
In the world of business, the concepts of streamlining
processes and lowering costs are always at the head of business
fundamentals. It’s no secret why, either. The more you can
lower operating costs, the more competitive your business can
be. Until recently, all of a company’s different forms of
communication had to be handled separately, leading to a more
difficult integration. That is until a new system known as
enterprise VOIP was introduced to the market. Still largely
unknown to many businesses, it is slowly starting to find its
way into the mainstream.
Enterprise VOIP offers businesses the
ability to manage all of their communication through one more
efficient process. It brings with it the advantages of its ease
of use, lower operational cost, and flexibility that, until
now, weren’t even on the map. VOIP, or voice over IP protocol,
changes your normal telephone use from a phone line to the
internet. This is where its manageability comes into play. By
switching your phone’s source, the mundane tasks normally
associated with telecom networks have been virtually
eliminated. For instance, if an employee needs to switch
locations but not telephone extensions, this would have meant
rerouting phone lines within the building to the proper seat.
With VOIP, it’s as simple as assigning the phone number to a
phone and taking the phone with you, keeping the number the
same.
This convenience factor is huge for many companies
considering enterprise
VOIP. This eliminates service calls if properly trained
personnel aren’t on staff and makes for quick and easy
transitions within the work place. The benefits don’t stop
there, though. VOIP systems help to consolidate voice and data
networks into one simple network which, under more traditional
means, would have meant an extreme amount of time and
expense.
This also helps companies that are experiencing growth keep
their systems from getting out of hand. As a company grows,
their networks need to grow, and with normal telecom service,
it can quickly grow into a nightmare. Due to the convenience
and cost associated with Enterprise VOIP, we are also seeing it
come into the consumer world as well. VOIP systems and wireless
LAN systems are popping up in households adding a level of
convenience and affordability that wasn’t previously available
to consumers. Things like visual email are becoming popular
while consumer VOIP systems are allowing people to purchase
home lines capable of unlimited local and long distance phone
calls for a standard, affordable rate every month.
